Free Reading : Using cotton buds could damage your hearing.

Grandma's grandfather tells us not to insert objects that are smaller than elbows to our ears. Ear specialists in the United States now agree. They say that cleaning the ears with cotton buds can cause damage to your ears and hearing. A doctor said that cotton buds appear harmless but can cause damage. He said: "People want to stick things in their ears and they think it's the right thing to do, but cotton buds can cause holes in the eardrum easier to get infections."
Doctors say that earwax is an important substance to maintain the health of our ears. Many people believe ear wax is a sign of being dirty. This is wrong and causes unsafe ear cleaning habits. Our body produces earwax to do important work to clean the ears, stop them from drying, and help them sweat. It also protects the ears against bacteria, insects and dust. Cotton buds can push earwax inside the ear and cause clogging and cause damage.
