Individual differences
in reading comprehension may depend on the knowledge and use of such a
strategy. Indeed, the primary method for encouraging inference makes, and thus
reads comprehension, is the training of reading strategies. Theoretically, the
ability to update and availability or knowledge of reading strategies is
considered essential for understanding the text. The first aim of this study
was to determine the relationship between renewal and reading comprehension.
However, there are several studies in which their relationship to reading
comprehension has been examined in a sample of normally growing children. The
purpose of this study was to investigate the specific effects of renewability
and knowledge of reading strategies on reading comprehension, controlling
reading speed, vocabulary, and short-term memory. The results show that
updating ability doesn't contribute to reading comprehension, when other
predictors are controlled, while knowledge of reading strategies has an
independent effect on reading comprehension. Relationships update skills and
knowledge of reading strategies, as well as other predictions, with a similar
reading comprehension on two reading comprehension tests. The relations of the
predictors with reading comprehension were similar for both measures of reading
comprehension body parts from series of words.
