The old man and the sea is a novel from cuba by Ernest Hamingway. This novel tells the reader about a old fisherman. The struggle of his fisherman, his name is saniago.
Everyday he goes to sea to find the bigger fish, until one day he goes to search fish with a young man his name is manolin. But until 84 days they dont find anything. "Saolin" is the name given by another fisherman for saniago, the meaning is very unlucky, or badluck.
From the tragedy, sanigo decides to ask manolin to move to another ship. The lucky ship, but manolin rejected his ask, but sanigo always ask him to move. And then manolin agree to move at another ship.
Everyday, Saniago always remember all about Manolin, he said "if manolin here, he can help me" but, in the other situation he is happy because Manolin can find a lot of fish.
So on day 85, Santiago sailed alone, bringing his little boat deep into the middle of the Gulf of Mexico. He arranged his hook, and in the next afternoon, a big fish that he was convinced was a marlin fish biting his bait. Santiago could not attract the fish, instead found his little boat that was actually pulled by the giant fish. Two days and two nights passed under the circumstances, and during that time the old man held his strap with his own strength with difficulty. Although he was in great pain and hurt in his struggle, Santiago felt a sense of love, emotion and appreciation for his opponent, often calling the fish his brother. He also decided that because of the fish's great dignity, no one was worthy of eating the fish.
On the third day of his struggle, the fish began to circle his little boat, showing fatigue on the old man. And than santiago can get the fish, the fish is the most fish he ever see.
He think this fish ia very expensive, so when he was come to his village. Manolin very shocked to know about the news, and he asked sanigo how can ? And santiago said. Dont stop to strugle.
