This article explain about the study compares L1-English and L1-Chinese undergraduate students use of lexical bundles in English argumentative essays, and identifies the most common bundle misuses in L2 student writing. They compared the forms and functions of four-word bundles. Findings indicated that L2 student not only use substantially more bundle types tokens than L1 writers, but the structural and functional patters also differ. While L1 writers bundle consist of mostly noun and preposition phrases, L2 students use significantly more verb phrase (clausal) bundles. In addition, most of the misused bundle in the L2 writers essays pertain to grammatical mistakes, particularly with article and prepositions.

Most English words are polysyllabic, yet research on reading aloud typically focuses on
monosyllables. Forty-one skilled adult readers read aloud 915 disyllabic nonwords that
shared important characteristics with English words. Stress, pronunciation, and naming
latencies were analyzed and compared to data from three computational accounts of disyl￾labic reading, including a rule-based algorithm.
The findings from the pre￾sent study make a critical theoretical contribution to our
understanding of skilled adult reading. Further, this data￾set provides the first normative nonword corpus for British
English and is the largest database of its kind for any lan￾guage, thus being critical for evaluating generalization in
models of reading as they advance into the disyllabic
domain. Finally, our findings have significant applied
implications for the development of evidence-based strate￾gies for literacy education and the clinical diagnosis and
treatment of reading impairments.

Word reading and spelling processes are assumed to be highly related to each other and to early literacy
measures. However, the debate on how reading and spelling interact in early development is far from resolved
yet.
In conclusion, the current study showed that word reading, spelling,
and their determinants are closely linked to each other, already during
the early phases of literacy development. Our results show that word
reading and spelling are related, and that word reading is supportive for
the prediction of subsequent spelling development in Grade 2. Not
considering writing development in literacy research and education is
at the expense of complete understanding of literacy development.
