The ancient people believed that the round eggs contained rooster, but that was wrong. Now Scientists know why bird eggs are different in shape (round, potato-shaped and pointed). They studied 50,000 eggs from 1,400 species to determine the effect of eggs on the bird.

They see the shape, length and height of the egg. The bird with the most oval eggs is the best. Scientists are surprised to learn that egg shape affects how well birds fly, that is, the better the spike the better the ability of flying birds. For example hummingbirds have oval-shaped eggs; owls have round eggs; and seabirds have the sharpest eggs.
