PRIDE AND PREJUDICE – Jane Austen
The story begins with a family living in a village
called Longbourn. This family consists of Mr. Bennet as the head of the family
and his wife Mrs.Bennet and their children Jane Bennet, Elizabeth Bennet
"lizzy", Mary Catherine "kitty" and also Lidya. This family
is a family that is quite prosperous but because this family no boys, then they
must be forced to give all their property to the brother's father who is none
other than the uncle of the five daughters. Bennet, belaiu is Mr.Collins. All
that applies when their father has died. As a result of this problem Mrs.
Bennett hopes that he should be able to marry off his children with wealthy men
so that his fifth daughter can live a decent life.
This novel is told from
the point of view of Elizabeth Bennet. Jane Austen encourages her readers to
follow the story from Elizabeth's point of view, filled with prejudices and
misunderstandings.
Pride and Prejudice
uses a language style in the form of narrative / narrative techniques that
speak directly and freely. The point is that there is freedom of speech of
every character, not just words that are actually spoken but also words that
symbolize the mind of a character or the way a character thinks or speaks when
he or she is thinking or speaking.
Oh yeah, I like Darcy and Elizabeth's best chats in chapter 60, when Elizabeth asks how Mr. Darcy fell in love with her. That’s the sweetest part in this story for me.
