9TH - NINETEEN EIGHTY-FOUR – George Orwell

NINETEEN EIGHTY-FOUR – George Orwell

Throughout his life, Winston tried to be a good citizen by obeying every rule of the Party even though deep within his heart and mind resided the antipathy of the dictatorship in his country. However, Winston did not dare to fight openly.

Not surprisingly, because the Thought Police, telescreen, and hidden microphone make privacy just like fantasy. In fact, history is rewritten according to the will of the Party. The state has absolute power over its people. Different or contradictory will soon be vaporized.

1984 is a sharp satire, presenting a picture of the totalitarian life of the future in which every citizen gera is learned, every spoken word is tapped, and every thought is controlled. Until now, 1984 was an important work of Orwell that brought him to the top of fame.

The story begins with a depiction of the atmosphere of life in 1984, where at that time, the world is divided into 3 major countries, namely Oceania, Eurasia, and Eastasia. The life of Winston Smith who was a member of the ruling party in Oceania at that time was only a life away from freedom of movement, work, expression and even freedom of thought. Not enough every movement of the citizens is watched, every word spoken is tapped and every thought is controlled, even the marriage of a person is governed by the Party, including the sex instinct. A husband and wife are required to give birth to a new generation for the birth of future generations who will then be subject and obedient to any rule of the Party in the future. If a couple does not visit a child, then they are required to divorce. In essence, everything that people do must be in accordance with the rules of the Party. For example, if two plus two equals four, but if the Party asks for five answers, then the citizen must answer that two plus two equals five.
I am so interesting to read this book, and I recomend you to read it.
