There are many different ceremonies or events when someone dies. In Bali, the body is put on top of the ground or in a tree where it is eaten by animals or birds. In Bali also burned the dead body, because they told that the dead person can easily come back to live in this world. The form the person come back it depends on their last life. Then actually burning a body is expensive. So why sometimes people burn many bodies at the same time. It can be more cheaper, because no need a lot of wooden towers.
