The story of English is a story of change. Old English is very different from Modern English. Today Old English is a university subject. In Old English, the tip of the words is very important because it contains many meanings like the past and present. In Modern English most of these suffixes disappear. The
story of English began sometime after the year of A. D. 400 when many
groups of people came to England from North-Western Europe. They are called Angles, Saxons and Rats and their language helps to compose Old English. All languages change over time and this is often influenced by some outside events.
