Antarctica is the coldest place on earth and because of its location in the south has two distinct seasons. From May to August, the winter months, there is no daylight. It is dark for 24 hours a day. On the other hand, in the summer months of December to February there is a continuous daylight. The sun never sets. Although
Antarctica is too cold for animals or growth but wildlife birds and
rich marine creatures live in the coastal waters surrounding Antarctica. Due to Antarctica's unspoiled environment many countries have established scientific research bases there.
