   A study was conducted to determine the role of an extensive reading in a second language course at Atilim University. For students who are depressed because they have to follow academic lessons, then this way is expected to increase interest in reading, because with the reading of the theme according to their interests then they will be motivated to read. Hence the appeal of extensive readings can be applied to language learning. However, although the themes are free but as teachers, they must keep revising the reading to remain in the context of learning.
