Living Space
From the text I read about the Living Room A new study shows there are poor people in Hong Kong who live in tiny homes. A housing group found that 204 families in one area live in a smaller house than a prison cell. The average room per person is 4.6 square meters. This is roughly the size of three toilet cubicles, or half the size of a car park. Hong Kong has some of the most expensive homes in the world. The average person has to save for 18 years to buy a tiny house. A member of the housing group told reporters how unhappy people live in such small houses. He said: "It is totally unacceptable and inhuman that the living room for people is the same as the prisoners in prosperous cities like Hong Kong." Another resident said that the small room for her husband and the six year old boy only had a bed, a closet and a small table. He said: "The bathroom is so small we have to sit on the side to go to the toilet."
