Screen Time
From the news I read about the new Research Screen shows that children should not watch TV, tablets or mobile screens before going to bed. Researchers found that "screen time" before bedtime was bad for children's health. The researchers looked at over 60 different studies about how bad the screen time for children ages 5 to 17. They say that 90 percent of the research found that watching time delayed sleep time. Children need more sleep than adults. Pre-school children take up to 13 hours, pre-teen to 12 hours, and adolescents should spend about nine hours a night. First, the light from the screen disturbs the child's body clock. It goes into the eyes of the children before they sleep, and makes the kids think it's daytime. Second, children watch videos of things that excite them. This keeps their brains active. Finally, when children watch the screen, they do not exercise, so they are not tired.
