Review of 4th book: The Pearl

This book told about a fairy tale that tells the life of a family living on the beach. They are not a family with a lot of money but a very poor family. The husband named Kino, wife named Juana and his son named Coyotito. One day his son was bitten by a scorpion so he took him to the doctor but the doctor refused to treat their child because the doctor judged they would not be able to pay for his son's medical expenses. So Kino was looking for money to be able to treat his son, he went sailing to the beach and he found a giant clam in which there are pearls. He was very happy about it. He thinks he can change his destiny. The pearl is the subject of many people's conversation. But in fact, he even get a lot of terror from unknown people. So he decided to go out of town to sell his pearl, because the pearl has been in the monopoly by the traders in the city with very cheap price. On the way, they were followed by three unknown people, and by that time Kino's son was killed. Kino is frustrated with the situation. He finally returns to his village, he throws  far away the pitiful litter pearl. I feel very pity when reading this book, this novel tells us that money is not everything in life. Money is not a determinant of one's happiness. But for me Kino has done the best as a father and a husband, but it is bad luck so great disaster comes to him. He did not get the money from the pearl but he lost his only child, how pity their family fate.
