"Why do children go to school?"

Most of the people in the United States have different ideas about what schools. A poll found that 45 percent of Americans say that the main goal is for students to take exams. About a quarter of people say it's for kids to get a job. More than 26 percent of Americans say that the biggest reason for schools is to teach citizenship.

One writer once said that the goal of the school was, "to ask questions about the universe." Students have different ideas about school. Elena Brankov, 15, says that it is to teach creativity and share ideas. Lyndon Bailey, also 15, said that the school, "just to make poor children into working robots and make rich people richer".
