113th free reading : Borrowed Words

From this story we know about English full of many beautiful loan words from many languages. Actually shampoo and soy sauce is not derived from english, shampoo comes from Hindi in India. Over time, British people in India use this word to mean liquids that cleanse hair. The word is originally Chinese (from keteness, fish sauce). In the 1600s, English and Dutch sailors brought this fish sauce to Europe. Over time, people change their sauce by adding tomato flavor to it, but basically the name remains the same.
