It's about the size of three toilet cubicles, or about half the size of a car park. A 2016 government report states that more than 65 percent of Hong Kong families live in homes ranging between 7 and 14 square meters.

Hong Kong owns one of the most expensive housing markets in the world. A member of the housing alliance Kwai Chung told reporters about how unhappy people live in such small homes. Another resident said that he could only buy a restroom for her husband and her son who is six years old. Room features bunk beds, wardrobes and small folding tables.
