Paint Formulation
One of
the mostly used techniques for corrosion control of material is painting. The
formulation of corrosion protective film determines the effectiveness of the
paint. The different constituents of paints like polymeric binder, pigments,
solvent, and additives define the formation of the protective coating on the
material surface. The organic phase (binder and solvents) of paint coating
controls the mechanical properties of the film and the mineral phase (binder
and extenders) of the coating governs the volume to the paint.
