Obliterated-writing decipherment using an infrared hyperspectral imaging system
New detection methods should be developed to detect certain obliterated writing, which cannot be detected by the conventional method. Characters are written on boxes using four different writing inks, selected based on the spectra measurement results. Inks are then stamped on the boxes using an information security stamp, obliterating this writing. The experimental results demonstrate that certain obliterated writing, which cannot be detected by the conventional method, can be detected by middle-infrared hyperspectral imaging.
