Reading and writing in Southeast Asian languages

This article examines about reading and writing in southeast asia. most people make research about reading and writing in some Europe especially English language. while research for Southeast Asian languages is still rare. but recently there are some who are interested in studying the characteristics of  languages in a landmark Asian. such as the caracteristics of Thai and some reading research, the characteristic of Malay / Indonesian and some reading research. Future research could focus on reading in adults, the development of reading in children, including reading in bilinguals and biscriptals and specific groups of children or adults.
