Book11 Sense and Sensibility "171"

By Jane Austen

Sense and Sensibility tells the story of the romance of two young brothers, Elinor Dashwood and Marianne Dashwood. Both are involved in a complicated love story. Elinor with Edward, and Marianne involved a love triangle between John Willoughby and Colonel Brandon.

British society in the 18th century is a society that upholds dignity and great respect for others. Even the promise of love is something sacred, although the promise was made when they were young. It's better to bury the true love that comes in adulthood rather than breaking the promise of love made when young and stupid. Meanwhile, the conflict of love triangle Marianne with John Willoughby and Col. Brandon gave the message that love is not always about what we want, sometimes the true one is waiting for us to realize. Really very heartfelt words and make us aware of true love.
