This story is about people who have great ideas but never
rich like Alfredo.
Alfredo Moser is an engineer from Brazil. One day, he has
a good idea and is very simple. He put water in a plastic bottle, like a 2-liter
bottle of Coca Cola, and he added a little bleach. Next, he cut a hole in the
roof and attached the bottle there with glue so that no rain could enter the
house. Now, sunlight touches bottles and water illuminates light into the
house. Do not need electricity or technology, the whole house can be bright. Because of his findings he helped poor people who do not
have electricity at home.
His findings has also changed the lives of
millions of people around the world. They use these bottle lamps in Brazil,
India, Fiji and many other countries. In many countries, less than 50% of
people have electricity so it's important to find smart solutions like this.
But Alfredo did not become a millionaire because of his
findings. The idea is free for everyone to use. He made some money from
installing lights in people's houses or in shops and factories. He is very
happy because he has helped so many people around the world.
There are some other inventors but not the same rich as
Alfredo, they prefer to help people with their findings.
as Karlheinz Brandenburg was a student in Germany as he
created the MP3. he lets everyone use it for free.
Daisuke Inoue is a Japanese businessman. the first karoke
bar maker. Spencer Silver is an American engineer who works for a
company called 3M. And Art Fry maker of small paper notes that you can use for
books or walls.
From these great people I learned rich people not how
much money you get but how much you can help others.
