FGFR Signaling as a target for lung cancer therapy.
Lung cancer, also known as lung carcinoma is a malignant lung tumor characterized
by uncontrolled cell growth in tissues of the lung . Growth can spread
beyond the lung by the process of metastatis into nearby
tissue or other parts of the body. cancers that start in
the lung, known as primary lung cancers, are cancinomas. The most
common symptoms are coughing
(including coughing up blood), weight loss,
shortness of breath, and chest pains. Bladder cancer is
histopathologically a heterogeneous group comprising urothelial carcinoma (UC),
squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), adenocarcinoma and neuroendocrine tumors (small
cell carcinoma). However, recent cluster analysis of whole genome expression
data has identified breast cancer-like “basal” and “luminal” types of muscle
invasive UC with a distinct. Cystectomy is the main treatment strategy for
muscle invasive UC, SCC or mixed UC with squamous differentiation. The value of
neoadjuvant chemotherapy remains controversial, as on the one hand there is
evidence to superiority in cases with mixed histopathology and on the other
hand the consequent delay of cystectomy in squamous differentiated tumors is
associated with poor response rates.
