"Differentiation of writing and drawing by U.S. two to five years old"
In this article explain about they compared the written and drawn productions of 2-5 years old U.S. children to investigate preschools' knowladge about symbol systems.
In study 1, children differentiated writing from drawings in the implements they used, the size of their products, and their use of recognizeable letters. Some distinctions were present in the youngest children an other age.
Ins tudy 2, adults did better for children is names and self potraits than for other targets. And the results show that children begin to learn about formal differences between writing and drawing an early age.
