"Eyelashes keep eyes from drying"

Scientists now know the answer to why mammalian eyelashes are long. Eyelashes help protect the eyes from drying. Also, the best eyelash length is one-third of the width of the eye. This applies to many mammals.
Researcher Dr Hu began his research after wondering why his baby kept moving his eyelids. She says eyelashes in mammals have always been a mystery. There are many opinions, ranging from catching dust to making people blink. It was the first study of eyelashes and wind. This shows that the eyelashes cut off the evaporation of the eye by 70 percent. They also reduce the dust. Hu is clever, "seeing what everyone sees, and seeing what no one sees."
