"Writing with Attitude: Stance expression in learner and proffesional dentistry research reports"
Medical students often lack the key skills in academic writing, whereas it is often a requirement for employment, promotion, and enculturation into the profession. This article focuses on the rhetorical strategy used for presentation of academic attitudes by author of dental studies. Adopt contrast-based corpus-based approach. These findings suggest that professional reports show a narrower linguistic device than those used by student authors. Pedagogical implications for ESP professionals working closer to aligning student writing with professional norms.
