The World Health Organization (WHO) says that the Zika virus can be globalized. The outbreak could be more serious than the Ebola virus, which killed more than 11,000 people. WHO says Zika could affect four million people, spreading across South and Central America. WHO warns Zika to spread at high speed. The virus-carrying mosquitoes are spreading throughout the world due to warmer weather.

Zika virus increases birth defects in South America. This causes a disease called microcephaly. This is where the baby is born with little head and brain damage. About 4,000 babies were born in Brazil with microcephaly last year. In 2014, there are only 150 cases. In Colombia, 2,100 pregnant women have the virus. It is hard to find a vaccine for the Zika virus.
