French fries are popular all over the world, especially in fast food restaurants. Belgians say that French fries are from Belgium and not French. They say that the word 'French fries' is very popular because France has an image for good food.

Recently, U.S.A says new GM potatoes are okay to eat. McDonald's will not use it for fries. A potato company says that they change the DNA of potatoes so they have little sugar and also have fewer things that can cause people to cancer. McDonald's says that McDonald's USA is not looking for transgenic potatoes, nor is there any current plan to change it."
