'Let's Speak English'
There are 2 of her new ESL classmates wanted to know where tara was from. They were both from Iraq. One of the women asked Tara, in English, if Tara was from Iraq because Tara look Iraqi. Tara replied "No" then the women took turns asking Tara is she was from Iran, or syiria, or Jordan. Tar responded with a simple 'no' again. And they laughing and said if Tara is not from anywhere, talking to each other in Arabic.
The next day, another student asked Tara,where Tara was from (in English) Tara answered that she was from Iraq. The 2 women heard Tara's response and they said "you are from iraq!" Tara smile and said yes. Then Tara apologize and explained that she had not wanted to get a Arabic conversation with them. Because in ESL, she wanted to continue to speak her native language, not to practice her Arabic. And, other student agreed with her opinion.
