A study shows that many poor people in Hong Kong live in smaller homes than jail cells. The average size of the house is 4.6 square meters. The average size of a jail cell in Hong Kong is 50 percent larger than the size of the house in this study.

Hong Kong has some of the most expensive houses in the world that must save for 18 years to buy a tiny place. People are very unhappy living in a small house like that. They say his house has only a bed, a cupboard and a small table. It is "unacceptable and inhuman".
