Doctors at Cambridge University say that hip-hop can help people who are depressed and mentally ill. 'Hip-hop therapy' uses hip-hop songs to reach people with emotional problems. Hip-hop talks about problems that can cause depression and mental illness, to be poor, unpopular, and about crime and drugs.
The report says that hip-hop artists portray the message of hope in the lyrics. They describe how they want to live, the car they want and the people they want to date. One of them is the Grandmaster Flash by The Notorious BIG. He tells people that they can succeed even if others say they can not do it.
