California is experiencing the worst drought in its history. Farmers help by reducing water use by 25 percent. It is voluntary. The governor of California also reduced urban water use by 25 percent.
The water system in California serves more than 30 million people and 6 million hectares of farmland. This is the largest water system in the world, but it certainly has many problems because too many people want water in large quantities. Farmers say they really need it because they grow food, while people in town say they need it to live.
