 "Effects of writing"

This article explains about distinguishing two sets of writing convictions namely transactional and transmissional beliefs by White & Burning (2005). they analyzed their belief scale and suggested two hypotheses related to writing performance. the one-process hypothesis treats trust as the number of different engagements, whereas the dual process hypothesis claims that trust represents different types of engagement. they describe the results of an audience with 84 students as participants who assess the relationship. Their results support the dual-process hypothesis, and show that transactional beliefs are about top-down strategy preferences or bottom-up strategies, while transmissional beliefs are about written content. this belief interacts in its effect on the quality of the text. the number and type of revisions made, and the extent to which the authors develop their understanding.
