REVIEW OF :
COMPULSORY EDUCATION PROGRAM


Compulsory education is a minimal education program to be followed by Indonesian citizens on the responsibilities of the Government and Local Government. Compulsory learning is one of the programs intensively encouraged by the Ministry of National Education (MoNE). Compulsory study of this target is every citizen aged 7-15 years. This means that every citizen aged seven to fifteen years must follow basic education by following compulsory education program.

While the government and local governments must ensure the implementation of compulsory education at the minimum level of basic education without collecting fees. Because compulsory education is the responsibility of the state organized by educational institutions Government, Local Government, and the community.
In the General Provision it is mentioned that compulsory education programs are held to provide the widest basic education services to Indonesian citizens without distinction of religious, ethnic, social, cultural and economic backgrounds.
This means that every Indonesian citizen of compulsory education is entitled to receive quality education services and parents / guardians are obliged to give opportunity to their children to get basic education.
