Fruits and vegetables are an important component of the traditional Mediterranean Diet and are rich in a combination of nutrients and nonnutrient compounds, such as dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals, which have a beneficial role in cardiovascular health. The favorable effect of fruits and vegetables on cardiovascular risk is attributed to their antioxidant, antiinflammatory and antiplatelet properties as well as their role in regulating blood pressure.
             there are many benefits to consuming fruits and vegetables daily. We know from the healthy plate example, that fruits and vegetables will not supply us with everything our body needs but it does make up a good portion of it.
