This novel is about a story of a rich man, Athony Rockwall. He lived in a expensive house and he had worked for many years, then he had a lot of money. He was a happy man, and he had many servants in his house. He had a son, and his name was Richard. Mr. Rockwall said to his son that his money would be very helpful for them, it could open all the doors for them.

At that time, Richard had a problem with the woman that he loved, Ellen Lantry. He really loved her, but she did not know it. They were going to go to a theater on that evening because the woman would go to Europe and stay there for two years. Mr. Rockwall talked to Richard that he could use his money to buy time with her. Then, Richard met the woman in the evening . The woman said that her family was waiting for them in the theater, then Richard asked the driver of his car to go to the theater, but the car stopped at Thirty-fourth street. There are a lot of cars on that street, and all of them stopped. They could not move.
Then Richard said sorry to her and he told her that they were not going to go to the theater at that evening. She said that she did not like theater very much and she was happy to be there with him.

Afterwards, Richard came back home and told his father that he was very happy because the woman loved him too. He said thanks to his father , and he believed what his father said before that his time could buy her time. Yes, actually, the a lot of cars on the street was in order of Mr. Rockwall. He used his money to make his son had more time with the woman that he loved.

This is a very interesting and good story. I can feel that the people in this story ware loved each other.  Mr. Rockwall loved his son so much and he wanted him to always be happy every time. Richard loved the woman and he also loved his father. I like this story.
