This book describes a story of two siblings who fought to
live during the period of World War II in Japan. The story is based on the fact
that the author has the same experience with Setsuko's older brother, the main
character of the novel. The plot of the story, the main character reveals his
journey from the first he lost his parents, until he lost his sister due to
malnutrition and starvation. the author makes this story from personal
experience so that readers can feel the pain and loss when reading this novel.
