Writing a list of tasks helps people sleep faster. The task list helps us to relax, so we are not worried about the things we should do. If we write everything down, we can forget it. This makes us more calm.


The researchers looked at how 57 students slept. Half of them make a list of tasks before they sleep. Those who wrote the to-do list fell asleep about 9 minutes faster. Students who write detailed lists fall asleep faster than students who write simple lists. About 40 percent of adults have trouble sleeping several times each month.
