'Effects of writing beliefs and planning on writing perfomance'
White and Bruning (2005) they analyse their beliefs scale to writing perfomance. It these are the single-process hyphotesis and the dual-process hyphotesis, to distinguished 2 sets of writing beliefs: transactional beliefs & transmisional beliefs. After they do experiment with of 84 university students participants that asseased the relationship between writing beliefs, different forms pre-planning and different aspect of writing perfomance. Their result support the dual-process hyphotesis (the beliefs represent different types of engagement) and suggest that;
- Transactional beliefs is about the preference for a top-down strategy.
- Transmisional beliafs is about the content that is written about.
