This article is about an evaluation of the three English textbook that have been decided to use in in grade 4 classes by the Turkish Ministry of National Education in state primary schools. In this evaluation, researchers use the teachers and the students as the participant and ask them to express their perceptions concerning various aspects of 37 items of textbook evaluation scheme.

The results from this study suggests that the three books are carefully designed to
reach the MNE curriculum goals and objectives, it can be used as potential agents for curriculum change and it can fulfill young learners’ needs and interests. This study has been conducted three years after the first implementation of the new textbooks. It is suggested that such evaluation of textbooks should be done on a regular basis to give further insights into the future revision and/or designing of the textbooks for young learners of English.

From this article we can learn that we should make sure that the books that we use in teaching are able to reach our curriculum goals and objectives, and it also can be used as potential agents for curriculum change and it can fulfill young learners’ needs and interest. So, our young generation will be more educated and able to use the right book for they learning activity.
