Free Markets
Laissez-faire is a French term meaning let
do or let make. Basically, it means a system in which the government
does not try to control business or trade.
Actually, there are no countries with laissez-faire systems.
Many countries have what is referred to as a “free
market,”
The first main reason for some government control is to fight
monopolies.
Another big problem for free markets is workers' rights.
Nowadays, most countries have laws so that companies must treat
their workers well.
There is one place that came very close to a laissez-faire
system, and it was Hong Kong.
