This article talks about health. Migrants from Mexico to the U.S. tend to be healthier than non-migrants of their origin part of a pattern called "healthy migrant effects". With climate change changing livelihoods around the world, we ask how the migration-health relationship can be changed by environmental tensions. On the one hand, positive health selectivity can be intensified if migration becomes more challenging - and therefore more likely to be performed only by the healthiest. the environmental context can change the relationship between migration and health, future research on "healthy migrant effects" should take account of environmental conditions.
