Free Reading "Mobile phones in class lower test scores" (66th)

A new study says that the value of students can go down due to the use of mobile phones in the classroom. This is because students do not learn well when they write text and use social media in the classroom. While students who turn off their phones in the class get a higher score on the tests they get at the end of the class that is about 6 percent.
Many students want to be online and check messages, even when they have classroom work, a big challenge for teachers is to keep students focused without mobile phones. Researchers say that students are physically present in the classroom, but are mentally absent because they use their phones. Teachers are struggling to "lose the battle" because students are more interested in social media.
