Performance of Ilami High School Students

The pre-reading activity had positive effects on the subjects’ reading comprehension. They scored statistically higher in the post-test than the pre-test. The present study examined the difference in effectiveness of the 2 pre-reading activities on the subjects’ reading comprehension ability and the result is  the students who received reading comprehension instruction with the guessing reading content from questioning activity gained more reading comprehension ability than the students who received the same reading comprehension instruction, but with the pre-reading vocabulary activity. the use of pre-reading activities is a valuable gift which teachers can give to their students as an efficient means for improving the students’ achievement in reading comprehension texts.
