The skills-based extension of knowledge structure theory forms a framework for dealing with the problem of whether it is possible to uniquely assess the underlying skills of solution behaviors that are exhibited in some series of items. research aims to characterize the so-called conjunction skill function, which sets each item as a subset of skills sufficient to complete it, allowing to select the unique state of a particular competency structure. It is sufficient but still must be according to procedure.
