A Descriptive Study: Reading Comprehension And Cognitive Awareness Skills


This study aimed descriptively to clarify the relationship between reading comprehension and cognitive awareness skills. Through research objectives, national and international literature related to reading comprehension and cognitive awareness skills are reviewed and achieved that cognitive awareness skills improve reading comprehension. Cognitive awareness is aware of how individuals give meaning to things and soon individual knowledge of the process of reading comprehension. The purpose of the reading is to understand. Thus, the reader's cognitive cognitive consciousness of the text is the basic factor for understanding the readings and for achieving effective readings.

As a result of the study, meaningful and positive correlations are revealed between metacognition inventory awareness and sub-dimensional cognitive methods and reading comprehension. A meaningful and positive correlation is revealed between the self-control dimension and evaluation and the average school sign for science lessons from highly talented students.
