From the text I read about Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has announced his country will move from the United States and work with China. He made the announcement at a meeting in the Chinese capital. Mr Duterte also hinted he might be closer to Russia. Duterte may ask the US to leave its military base in the Philippines. This will be a big problem for the United States. A US spokesman said: "It started raising questions about our overall approach to the region." This separation from the US comes after 65 years of close cooperation between the two countries. Russian newspaper 'Russia Today' commented on the change in the relationship. It wrote: "China has just turned its former rival into a regional ally."
