This article talks about health. Migrants from Mexico to the
U.S. tend to be healthier than non-migrants of their origin part of a pattern
called "healthy migrant effects". With climate change changing
livelihoods around the world, we ask how the migration-health relationship can
be changed by environmental tensions. On the one hand, positive health
selectivity can be intensified if migration becomes more challenging - and
therefore more likely to be performed only by the healthiest. the environmental
context can change the relationship between migration and health, future
research on "healthy migrant effects" should take account of
environmental conditions.
