From the news I read about the Starbucks Coffee Shop has opened a coffee shop in the ancient capital of Japan, Kyoto. It's unlike any other Starbucks because it has three tatami rooms. Tatami is a traditional straw webbing used for flooring in Japan. There are no seats in the tatami room. People sit on cushions in tatami. The coffee shop is in a 100-year-old home in the historic area of Kyoto. No neon signs or giant logos. Instead, there is a traditional dark blue curtain above the front door with a black logo printed on it. Starbucks reforms the house in a traditional style and creates a Japanese garden for people to see. The company wants to be a good neighbor. This will not let people line up in front of the store as they wait to get in. This will also limit the number of customers during the busiest times. This is to ensure the atmosphere in a quiet area.
