The pearl
It was Kino, a pearl seeker living in a small beach shack near La Paz, Juana as his wife and their son Coyotito. They lived peaceably and peacefully until a disaster in the form of a scorpion that stung their baby's in the morning. Juana immediately lifted her son who screamed in pain and sucked the sting mark on the little boy's shoulder. While Kino grudgingly catched the scorpion that has injured his son then he grasped and squeezed it hard with his own hands, so that the animal was destroyed. Juana was panicked, but they never knew a doctor, as they just use the natural environment to treat something. She walked while she was carrying Coyotito accompanied by her husband and followed by the neighbors from the village to the town where the doctor lived. Upon arriving at the doctor's home, he who is arrogant, greedy and arrogant knows which group of potential patients, he came from so he instructs his servant to drive Kino and his neighbors out because he suspects that they will not be able to afford the medical expenses.Kino felt utterly humiliated by the doctor's treatment and reacted by smashing his fist into the gate of the greedy doctor's home so that blood flowed between his fingers. They backed to their village, and they was still holding their babies walking toward to the canoe (small boat) commonly used by fishermen . He worked looking for pearls, and  hoped he would get enough pearls in order to pay the doctor who would treat his son. In that time, he climbed down from the canoe to dive to the bottom for an oyster while Juana was waiting and  wrapping Coyotito's wound with a herb of foliage. While Kino dived between the rocks and the rocks, he saw a huge oyster lying alone covered by sand and sea plants,so he picked it up and took it to the top of the canoe. He open the oyster, and they seemed the most staring, large and beautiful pearl, and they had never seen before. He screamed loudly, so the fishermen heard it. In a short time news of the discovery of 'giant pearls' by Kino also spread throughout the village to even the city.
Everyone now seems to be taking part in the discovery. When the doctor hears the news of the pearl, he will treat Coyotito's wounds.
Not long after that came the doctor who argued will treat Coyotito who at that time his condition has improved. He intimidates Kino that if Coyotito is not immediately given the drug then his son's life will be threatened. Finally Kino let the doctor treat his son. Before goodbye the doctor reminded Kino to pay for medical expenses after having money. After the doctor leaves, Kino takes his pearl and buries it underground in his hut. In that night Kino's ears heard the noise in the outer bushes of his hut, he came out with a dagger in his hand. They was fighting and it became quiet again. Juana told Kino to throw the pearls away ,so their safety would not be threatened, But Kino was determined to keep his precious pearls.
The next day, Kino goes to town to sell his pearls. In town, all of the pearl's middleman offered it very low prices compared to the beautiful pearls as if they had conspired before. He is upset and will not give his pearl to the middlemen, but he will go out of town to sell it. Kino and Juana carrying Coyotito rush to his canoe to leave town, but Upon arriving at the beach, Kino saw his canoe has been tampered with. Then they went back to the hut and Kino saw again that the hut had been engulfed in flames. Finally they took refuge at Kino's brother's house. There they hid until the night. As the night wore on, the kino, Juana and Coyotito walked along the coast out of town. They rest in the forest, When Juana was asleep, and Kino decided to rest in a cave on a hill. He saw that in the distance there were three people who followed in his footsteps.Kino want to attack the three men and leave Juana in the cave to be safe but Juana disagrees. Finally,Kino left his wife and son. one of the three men carrying a gun standing with a rifle ready on his hand when they heard the sound of cries from above the cave.  Kino is still holding his dagger holding his breath. The crying stopped, and the man in silence lowered his weapon. Then the crying came again and this time the man shot his shotgun straight at the crying. Along with Juana's cries and the cry of death from Coyotito, Kino blindly attacked the three men. Finally there was a fierce fight between Kino with the three men. Kino manages to kill them even with an uncertain feeling. After that he with a rifle rushed to the cave where Juana was. Sorrow and anger raged in the cave. Kino with a rifle stuck in his arms and Juana with a bundle of bloody cloth in his arms backed to La Paz. Their gaze was straight and empty, heading for the beach. Upon the beach, Kino pulls out his pearl. He held it tight, lifted it high, then threw it all the way out to sea. They watched the pearl floating in the air, then fell into the sea and disappeared from sight, and now all that remains is a heart-wrenching melody.
